Babies and Such
My Mother works in the church nursery, it is her calling actually or one of them. She should also have been a defense attorney! She is always the advocate of the person being criticized - always. She also loves babies, the ones the Moms hurriedly thrust into her ready arms each Sunday morning before the Sunday service commences. These are not just ANY babies - there are strict criteria for Mrs. Evelyn's department for you see these babies are welcome to stay in this room as long as they are totally dependent and cannot do one tiny thing - sit alone. Some mothers, reluctant for their babies to pass through this special room, will declare when their sweetie sits up, but oh- notice that she/he then soon toppled over, so that doesn't count yet! Babies are interesting creatures - some sit up, some skip crawling and go straight to walking and then sadly, oh-so-sadly for my Mom, they must graduate to the next level and into a different world in a different room. One day a Mother proudly walked in with the little one WALKING beside her and it was INSTANT graduation day! Mom is not just a babysitter, however, she is a bonafide teacher in the world of babydom and is their very first teacher to tell these precious little ones about Jesus and how He loves them! Some of these babies see their very first picture of an adult Jesus and one sweet baby girl, only two years old, recognized the picture later after she graduated from Mrs. Evelyn's room to the delight of the baby's Mother, much to the credit of my Mom and others who take this responsibility very heavily to be the first to introduce these infants to their Creator. Keep up the heavenly work, Mom!
